VN-Index closes July above 450 points
The VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange today experienced a slight gain at last, closing the last session of July above 450 points.
Ending the first phase of today's session, the index saw a drop of 0.85 points or 0.18% to 447.42 points with trading volume of 4.5 million units worth VND 167 billion.
The index continued to decline at the beginning of the second phase, however, it managed to have a gain as the second phase ended thanks to the recovery of many large-cap stocks including DPM, FPT, PVD and STB. Closing the second phase, the index reported a 1.53 points gain to 449.8 points with over 12 million units matched worth more than VND 436 billion.
Ending the session today, the VN-Index had 3.09 points more, closing July at 451.36, up 0.68%. Investors traded over 13.1 million units worth VND 462 billion.
There were reportedly 65 gainers against 86 losers out of the total 160 listed stocks on the southern bourse. Nine other stocks maintained their reference prices.
This has been the fourth gain in a row of the index. Earlier, the index suffered six consecutive drops, losing a total of more than 60 points.
The HASTC-Index of the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre on the contrary closed July with a drop, down 2.14 points or 1.47% at 143.32. Total market trading volume was 6.4 million units worth VND 223 billion.
