More Vietnamese investors interested in rubber plantation in Laos
Investors from Vietnam ’s central highlands province of Gia Lai have eyed rubber tree plantations in Laos ’ Champassak province as a promising area for investment.
At a recent working session with Champassak authorities, Gia Lai provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Viet Hung said business people want to develop 10,000ha of rubber trees in the Lao province.
According to Champassak authorities, other Vietnamese investors have already planted rubber trees on 10,000ha in Bachieng and Sana Somboun districts, helping create jobs for local people.
In addition to rubber plantations, Gia Lai’s businesses want to pump money into small-scale hydro-electricity plants, mining and tourism in Champassak.
