MobiFone has best mobile service this year: report
Mobile phone operator MobiFone ranked first in most quality criteria for the 2008 year, followed by Viettel and Vinaphone, according to a quality management bureau report released Wednesday.
The Posts and Telematics Quality Management Bureau’s report based its rankings on criteria like the rates of successful and failed calls, voice quality, customer care quality, and number of customer complaints.
Nguyen Duc Trung, deputy head of the bureau, said the assessment process for the country’s three largest mobile service providers was carried out in Hanoi.
MobiFone had the lowest rate of failed calls at 0.29 percent, while Viettel registered 0.35 percent and VinaPhone 0.5 percent.
MobiFone also topped the list in terms of voice quality and customer care quality.
The rate of successful calls to MobiFone’s customer care services was 98.82 percent.
Viettel had the most number of customer complaints, even though its rate of successful calls was 98.61 percent.
VinaPhone improved its voice quality compared to last year, but its ranking for this criterion still fell behind MobiFone and Viettel.
Both MobiFone and VinaPhone are owned by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, while Viettel belongs to the military.
The bureau, under the Ministry of Information and Communications, plans to make assessment for two other mobile phone operators, EVN Telecom and S-Fone, in Ho Chi Minh City in the third quarter of this year.
