ANZ named best retail bank in Vietnam

The Asian Banker awarded ANZ Vietnam the “2008 Best Retail Bank in Vietnam” honor at a ceremony held in Bangkok last week.

The 7th Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards recognized ANZ according to criteria including retail revenue generation, operating profit, mortgage lending and customer service standards.

“This is great recognition of what we are building in Vietnam,” said ANZ’s General Manager of Retail Banking Phil Crouch at the ceremony.

More than 150 banks and financial institutions in 23 countries across the Asian region were evaluated this year as part of the Excellence in Retail Financial Services program, organizers said.

The Asian Banker is a research and intelligence firm dedicated to providing strategic business information and analyses for the financial services community.
