HSBC links ATM networks with Vietnamese bank
The Hong Kong and Shang Hai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) has successfully linked their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) networks with Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) to bring greater convenience to retail banking customers.
With the linkage, the total number of machines in the shared network between the two banks is expected to reach over 450 by the end of 2008, said a press release by the HSBC in Hong Kong.
The link will help customers of Techcombank and the HSBC in Vietnam, who hold credit cards, deposit and current accounts, be able to easily withdraw cash, check their bank balances and latest transactions at ATMs of the both banks, according to the press release.
In the next three years, the HSBC plans to invest approximately 28.55 million USD to expand its self-service banking facilities in Vietnam, including multi-functional ATMs.
Currently, Techcombank has 260 ATMs across Vietnam while HSBC has 57.
