IDG Ventures Vietnam to invest in online study website
The Education Services and Investment (ESI) Joint Stock Company announced Thursday that it would develop a new area in e-Learning thanks to an undisclosed funding amount from IDG Ventures Vietnam.
IDG’s investment will support the local firm to build infrastructure, improve brand recognition, and research and develop e-Learning, according to the director of ESI Nguyen Giang Lam.
The company runs the www.hocmai.vn website that offersan online study platform for thousands of students who use it to conduct research.
The website has attracted more than 320,000 subscribers after a year of operation.
Founded in 2004, IDG Vietnam, the first American technology venture fund in the country, manages US$100 million in investment capital.
To date, IDG has invested in a diverse portfolio of leading technology firms including VinaGame, VinaPay, and iSphere, among others.
