Both stock exchanges welcome newcomers
Bao Minh Insurance Joint Stock Corporation (BMI) listed 75.5 million shares at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) on April 21.
The first insurer to be listed at the country’s largest bourse, BMI’s shares were initially priced at 10,000 VND each.
Bao Minh has retained a leading position in the country’s competitive non-life insurance market, posting an annual average growth of 20 percent.
Also on April 21, Vietnam Gold Securities Joint Stock Company (VGS) became the 78th member of the HOSE.
Established in December 2007 with a chartered capital of 2.5 million USD (40 billion VND), VGS specialises in securities brokerage, investment consultancy and deposits.
The company is expected to raise its chartered capital to 8.4 million USD (135 billion VND) by the end of this year.
The same day, Lilama 69-2 Joint Stock Company listed 3 million shares. Listed as L62 at the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre, it is the first subsidiary of the Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (Lilama) to go on the bourse.
