Stock indexes continue upward trend
Stock indexes of both bourses at the week-end trading session continued their upward trend after new stock trading bands of 1 percent and 2 percent were applied, respectively, in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi , one day earlier.
The electronic boards on March 28 showed a strong increase in demand while supply was modest.
All shares on the two bourses shot up to the ceiling prices for the third consecutive session.
The benchmark VN-Index at the main bourse, Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), rose 3.95 points, or 0.78 percent, to close at 512.70 points.
The trading volume and value were halved compared to the previous session with 2.7 million shares worth 166 billion VND changing hands.
The HaSTC-Index on the Hanoi bourse jumped 2.20 points, or 1.54 percent, to 178.58 points.
The bourse also saw decreases in trading volume and value with 620,000 shares worth 24 billion VND traded.
