Stock indexes continue downward trend
Both the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and its Ha Noi counterpart declined for the second consecutive day by the end of the October 23 trading session.
The VN-Index at the HoSE dipped by 10.45 points on 1,079.27 points. However, trading volume and value saw slight increases with 11 million shares worth nearly 1.2 trillion VND being traded.
The HoSE saw 22 stocks rally for gains, 11 remain unchanged and 89 fall.
Blue chip Binh Dinh Mining (BMC) suffered the biggest loss by having 14,000 VND wiped off its listed price, followed by Imexpharm Pharmaceutical (IMP), Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG) and Sea&Air Freight International (SFI).
Meanwhile newcomer Construction JSC No. 5 (SC 5) rose by 10,000 VND. It was followed by Kinh Do Corp. (KDC), Nam Viet (NAV) and Ba Ria-Vung Tau housing developer (HDC).
By the close of trade in Ha Noi, the HaSTC had declined by 4.99 points to 326.29 points.
