SCG expand markets in Vietnam
Thailand’s leading industrial group Siam Cement Group (SCG) plans to triple its total revenues to VND704 billion in the Vietnamese market by 2015.
SCG Vietnam Director Mr Sattawat Thitaram said that the company already opened a store in Hanoi in early March and will open another one in HCM City the following year.
To fulfill sales target by 2015, SCG will increase the number of its authorized agents in Vietnam from 30 to 50 in the next five years.
Mr Sattawat said that there is a bright prospect for the group to develop strongly as the Vietnamese housing market is booming.
It is estimated that if earnings from construction materials will reach US$13 million this year, up 35 percent compared to last year’s figure. Currently, its brand name Cotto is very popular in Vietnam.
Mr. Sattawat described Vietnam as a strategic market that had helped SCG become the world’s leading ASEAN group operating in the field of construction materials.
