- July 1999: BIDV – QBE Insurance Joint Venture Company was established on the basis of the cooperation between Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and QBE International Insurance Company; - 2006: Renamed as BIDV Insurance Company (BIC) after BIDV acquired all the shares of QBE in BIDV – QBE Insurance Joint Venture Company; - 2007: Increased the charter capital to VND500 billion, and opened 11 new branches and 30 regional business offices; - 2008: Launched Bancassurance product, and cooperated with Lao-Viet Joint Venture Bank (LVB) and Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterior Laos (BCEL) to establish the Lao - Viet Insurance Joint Venture Company (LVI); - September 2009: Being entrusted with full management of the Cambodia Vietnam Insurance Company (CVI), BIC became the first Vietnamese insurance company to simultaneously operate in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia; - 01 October 2010: Transformed from a 100% State-owned company to a joint stock company under a name as the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam Insurance Corporation – BIC; - 2011: Listed on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE), and launched online insurance sale channel at the website www.baohiemtructuyen.com.vn; - 2013: Acquired the shares of Lao Viet Joint Venture Bank in Lao Viet Insurance Joint Venture Company to increase the share of BIC in LVI to 65%; and issued consolidated financial statement since Quarter 3; - 2014: Increased the charter capital to VND762,299,820,000; - 2015: Inaugurated Representative Office in Myanmar; - 2016: Increased the charter capital to VND1,172,768,950,000; |
