Several Vietnamese banks see top-tier reshuffles
Some banks in Vietnam, including Eximbank, PGBank, and VIB, have recently undergone significant leadership changes.
Starting from October 3, Nguyen Hoang Hai, 45, has been appointed by the board as acting CEO of Eximbank.
"I am honoured to serve in this new capacity and steer Eximbank towards new horizons," commented Hai.
Holding an international business administration master's degree from Radboud University, Netherlands, he brings nearly two decades of experience in financial banking.
Hai formally joined Eximbank on August 2 in the capacity of deputy CEO. His prior roles include being a board member at ABBank Investment Council, deputy CEO of ABBank Asset Management, and both board member and CEO of EVN Finance.
In parallel moves, Eximbank’s board accepted the resignation of Tran Tan Loc as CEO, effective October 2. Pham Quang Dung has similarly stepped down as deputy CEO. However, both gentlemen will continue serving on Eximbank's board.
Eximbank is not the only bank in Vietnam witnessing such executive changes. On October 2, PGBank disclosed chairman Nguyen Phi Hung's resignation from the board, a mere three months after taking up the role.
"It is with a heavy heart that I take this decision," Hung was quoted saying.
This came in the wake of several other board members of PGBank tendering their resignations recently, leaving only Nguyen Manh Hai and Dinh Thanh Nghiep in their current positions.
Further in the banking spectrum, VIB has reappointed Han Ngoc Vu as CEO for another four-year term, starting from October 1.
Additionally, Vietbank has announced the appointment of Tran Tuan Anh, with nearly 25 years of financial experience, as new CEO.
ABBank has decided on Pham Duy Hieu to serve as its acting CEO, replacing Le Thi Bich Phuong. This is the third time Hieu has been vested with this responsibility at ABBank.
Meanwhile, SeABank, a part of Hanoi-backed BRG Group, has delegated Le Quoc Long, standing deputy CEO, with the responsibilities of acting CEO, overseeing the bank's operational activities.
