HDBank launches many loan programme for workers
To support workers who lost their jobs due to the slump in foreign trade, HDBank is offering loans at attractive interest rates of just 50 per cent of market rates and with simple procedures.
Normally, the end of the year is always the busiest time for production and business activities, but this year many companies, especially in the leather, footwear and wood industries, have suspended production due to lack of orders and thousands of workers have lost their jobs.
In HCM City for instance, nearly 1,200 workers at the foreign-owned Ty Hung Company Limited in Binh Tan District, which manufactures leather shoes for export, will be laid off on December 1.
Samho Viet Nam Ltd. in Cu Chi District is planning to lay off more than 1,400 out of its 8,733 employees.
To help mitigate the difficulties for workers in this difficult period, HDBank and HD SAISON have a loan package of VND10 trillion with preferential interest rates for them.
It follows the direction by the Government and the State Bank of Viet Nam to eliminate loansharking to improve workers' lives.
