Shares end morning trade on negative note
On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the benchmark VN-Index lost 1.23 per cent to 1,148.82 points.
The index had risen 0.11 per cent to end Thursday at 1,163.10 points.
The market's breadth was negative as 407 stocks declined while 58 stocks increased. Market liquidity was still high with a trading value of over VNĐ12.6 trillion, equivalent to nearly 553 million shares traded on the southern market.
The VN30-Index, tracking the 30 biggest stocks in market value, decreased 0.98 per cent to 1,153.28 points. Twenty-six of the VN30 basket slid, while three stocks increased.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index dropped 0.74 per cent to 265.21 points.
