HOSE: Changes in the principle of free-float factor in index calculation

Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange announced the information on changing the principle of rounding free-float factor for HOSE-Index at Section 3.3.5 of Rules for Management of the HOSE-Index Series – Version 2.3 issued under Decision No. 529/QD-SGDHCM dated December 20, 2018 as follows:

 "3.3.5. Rounding the free-float factor when calculating the index

The calculated free-float factor will be rounded to calculate the index and the Capping Factor according to the following principle:

• With a free-float ≤ 15%: Rounding up by 1%.
• With a free-float > 15%: Rounding up by 5%.

For example:

•  The free-float of A stock is 13.55%, when calculating the index, A stock will have the free-float of 14%.
• The free-float of B stock is 15.55%, when calculating the index, B stock will have the free-float ratio of 20%.”
