Constructors wrap up the year-end with an industrial construction exhibition

The Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) held their third annual 2017 Construction Industrial Exhibition at Koh Pich Convention Center on November 30 in coordination with the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

The programme was presided over by Chea Sophara, senior minister and minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, Khuong Sreng, the Phnom Penh governor, and the president of the Asean Constructors Federation in the Asia Pacific, with 168 local and international representatives of construction companies across the region participating in the exhibit.

Siv Pheng, the exhibition organiser and an assistant to CCA Chairman Pung Kheav Se, told Post Property that the purpose of the event was to “show the progress and development of the country, such as the construction sector, which has many high-rise buildings and uses civilised modern construction materials and equipment like other countries”.

He said that the construction market in Cambodia is free and that the exhibition would like to offer investors a chance to back projects in the Kingdom. Developers in the construction industry will also meet to discuss shortcomings of the sector.

The 2017 event is much bigger than last year’s, with 36 foreign companies attending this year, he said. The number of construction projects has increased by 27 percent over the last 10 months.

Doctor Tan Monyvann, a representative of CCA Secretary-General Mong Reththy, said that the meeting is organised annually to report on the new president of the association and the new board of directors after an election.

“This is a great programme that offers opportunities for national and international construction companies to exhibit the construction plan and materials, and we want more people involved in the field to learn more,” Monyvann said.
