Cambodia Property Award winners
The winners of the first ever Cambodia Property Awards were announced at the gala dinner and awards ceremony hosted at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra on 25 February.
To recap the winners, five awards went to the Borey Penghuoth Group, including Best Developer, Best Housing Development, and Special Recognition in CSR. The Olympia City Development Co. Ltd. won the Best Mixed-Use Development award and two Highly Commended awards. The Real Estate Personality of the Year was awarded to Rithy Sear, chairman of Worldbridge Land (Cambodia) Co. Ltd. Urbanland Asia Investment Co. Ltd. won Best Condo Development (Central Phnom Penh) for Embassy Residences.
In total, 15 developers were rewarded in all categories.
The most-nominated company, the Borey Penghuoth Group, took home five awards, and won in all the categories in which it was shortlisted, including Best Developer (Cambodia).
The group also won the Special Recognition in Corporate Social Responsibility, according to the event organiser, “for its initiatives in building modern housing for the people of Cambodia and participating in the social reconstruction of the nation following decades of civil wars”.

Attended by around 300 leading industry figures and VIPs, including the Secretary of the State for the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, His Excellency Dr Pen Sophal, who represented His Excellency Senior Minister Im Chhun Lim for the award show.
According to the organiser, the winners and Highly Commended award recipients were chosen by an independent panel of judges of leading experts from all fields of the industry, after a fair and transparent six-month nomination and judging process supervised by BDO International, one of the world’s largest accounting firms.
The winners of the Cambodia Property Awards will continue on to Singapore in November to compete in the grand finals of the Southeast Asia Property Awards 2016, along with seven of their ASEAN peers.
