Stock indices end almost flat this morning
Both indices opened much lower than yesterday's benchmark, but managed to end almost flat by the end of this morning.
The VN-Index was up 0.01 per cent to stand at 588.03 points by the end of the morning.
The market performance was balanced with 95 gainers and 98 losers.
Market liquidity improved with 63 million shares being traded, worth VND1.25 trillion (US$57.8 million).
Securities shares led the market. HCM City Securities Joint Stock Company (HCM) and Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI) gained 5.35 per cent and 2.52 per cent, respectively.
SSI also rose to become the second most active code with 6.5 million of its shares being traded, ranking after FLC Group (FLC), which traded seven million shares.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 86.44 points, a decrease of 0.01 per cent, with 71 gainers and 83 losers.
The market traded 33.3 million shares, worth VND412 billion ($19 million).
Securities shares also led the northern market. Three securities codes -- IB Securities JSC (VIX), VNDirect Securities JSC (VND) and Saigon-Hanoi Securities JSC (SHS) -- were among the four most active shares. All of them made gains.
FIT Investment Joint Stock Company (FIT) rose 1.57 per cent to close at VND12,900 and traded 3.4 million shares to remain the most active code.
The afternoon session will start at 1pm.
