VIP: Explanation for business result in Quarter 2.2014

Viet Nam Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company explained the difference in profit after tax between Quarter 2/2014 and Quarter 2/2013 as follows:

Profit after tax in Quarter 2/2014 increased VND10,637,883,577, or 86.89%, compared to Quarter 2/2013 because of the following main reasons:

-          Financial expense decreased VND10,025,990,324 because the balance of foreign currency loans at banks decreased, and the loss reserve at subsidiaries and associated companies also decreased because these companies have improved business operations.

-          Profit in Quarter 1/2014 was negative and the current corporate tax calculated according to the method of cumulative profit before tax in the first six months of 2014, so the current corporate tax was lower than the same period of 2013.
