Shares close mixed in morning trading

Shares continued to advance on the HCM Stock Exchange this morning but fell on the Ha Noi bourse.

The VN-Index added 0.33 per cent to stand at 544.60 points, while the VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, was up 1.17 per cent and closed at 612.95 points.

The market was neutral with 90 shares rising, 94 falling and 117 closing flat.

The trading volume reached 70.7 million shares, worth VND991 billion or US$47 million.

The FLC Group (FLC) was again the most active code, with more than 8 million shares being traded at VND11,200 per share.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index inched down 0.09 per cent to end at 76.78 points.

The losers outnumbered the winning stocks by 109 to 62, while 193 closed flat.

The market volume was modest at 45.4 million shares, worth VND433.6 billion or $20.6 million.

The PetroVietnam Construction Corp (PVX) led the trading here, with nearly 6 million shares being exchanged at VND5,300 per share.
