Tra fish exports to ASEAN surge

Viet Nam's tra fish exports to ASEAN nations reached US$124.8 million last year, a year-on-year increase of 13 per cent, according to the Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

Singapore topped the list of tra importers, importing $36.7 million during 2013, up 2.4 per cent over 2012.

It was followed by Thailand, to which imports rose 63.3 per cent to $34.2 million.

Viet Nam is home to 236 tra fish exporters, 94 of whom own processing factories that account for 90 per cent of the total tra fish export value. In total, the fish was exported to 149 countries.
