BIC: Explanation for business result in Q4, 2013

BIDV Insurance Corporationexplained business result in Q4/2013 compared to Q4/2012 as follows:

-         According to financial statement of parent company, profit after tax in Q4/2013 was VND19,296 million, increasing VND3,621 million (equivalent to 23%) compared to the same period of 2012. The main reason of this increase is net revenueof insurance premium in Q4/2013 which increased by 18% compared to the same period of 2012. Besides, financial activity increased by 26% because of the reversal of provision for securities investment.

-         According to consolidated financial statement, profit after tax in Q4/2013 was VND21,858 million, increasing VND6,183 million (equivalent to 39%) compared to the same period of 2012. The main reason of this increase is the good growth of business result of parent company. Besides, profit from capital contribution in Lao Viet Insurance Joint Venture Company grew more than 10%.
