HCMC’s CPI rises slightly in January

Ho Chi Minh City’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in January, a month ahead the Lunar New Year Festival, increased only 0.44% against last month, according to the municipal Statistics Bureau.


Among 11 groups of goods and services used to calculate CPI, eight saw increases in their selling prices. Prices of foodstuffs, food and catering services climbed up 1.43%, 0.17% and 0.09% respectively; and those of garments, headwear and footwear rose 0.94%.

Charges of transport, and post and telecommunications services dropped 0.02% and 0.09%, respectively.
