SBV posts 1.38tr dong net injection on OMO on Sep 24

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on September 24 injected 2.544 trillion dong on open market operations (OMO) for 7-day tenor at the interest rate of 8 percent per annum while withdrawing 1.164 trillion dong on OMO, leading to a net injection of 1.38 trillion dong.


From August 21 so far, the central bank has continuously pumped money on OMO in order to regulate the money flows and stabilise liquidity for the whole banking system.

Last week, the central bank pumped 11.445 trillion dong on OMO and withdrew more than 12 trillion dong, resulting in a net withdrawal of nearly 600 billion dong.

On the interbank market, on September 24, the overnight interest rate was ranging 3.5-4 percent p.a., one week at 4-4.5 percent and one month at 6.5-7.5 percent
