Accor opens Novotel Saigon Centre

International hotel operator Accor said on Tuesday the newly-built hotel Novotel Saigon Centre under its management in Ho Chi Minh City has opened its doors to guests.

The opening of Novotel Saigon Centre on the corner of Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Hai Ba Trung streets marks a return of this upper mid-scale hotel brand to the southern economic hub of Vietnam a couple of years after Accor stopped management of a building near Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Patrick Basset, senior vice president of Accor Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, said in a statement that Novotel Saigon Centre’s prime location made it a choice to stay for travelers to the city.

“This new Novotel hotel completes the spectrum of Accor hotel brands that guests visiting the city can choose from - from luxury Sofitel, upper-midscale Novotel, to economy ibis,” Basset said. “Saigon now has an Accor hotel to meet all travelers’ budgets and expectations.”

Novotel Saigon Centre has 247 guest rooms and suites. The hotel also features four food and beverage outlets; five meeting rooms able to accommodate up to 350 persons, an in-house swimming pool, fitness center, sauna and spa facilities.

Novotel Saigon Centre is about a 20-minute drive from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, 1.5 km away from Saigon Railway Station, near the city’s landmarks, such as the Reunification Palace, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market.

In Vietnam, Accor manages Novotel properties in cities and tourist spots including Ho Chi Minh City, Halong Bay, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and has buildings under development in Danang, Phu Quoc, Hue, Hanoi and other localities.

Accor has operated in Vietnam for 21 years and plans to manage 30 hotels of the luxury Sofitel brand, the upscale MGallery, the mid-range Mercure and Novotel and the economy ibis in this market by 2015.
