Large rice mill opens in delta region
A rice mill that can process 24 tonnes of rice per hour and store 40,000 tonnes opened in the Mekong province of An Giang on Saturday.
Phu Vinh Food Processing Joint-stock Company has built the plant at a cost of VND200 billion (US$9.5 million) in Thoai Son District's Vinh Chanh Commune.
It is the largest in the province.
Pham Vinh Thao, chairman of Phu Vinh, said the mill would help the company buy paddy from farmers in An Giang who are taking part in the large-scale rice programme by pooling their fields
