In hard times, rich people throw their money into resort real estate
The prices of the land plots in the environs of Hanoi, suitable for resorts and villas, have bounced back quickly thanks to the low prices and the rapid development of the domestic tourism market.
Spend money to relax
Cong, Director of a design and printing company in Hanoi, decided to buy a land plot in the suburbs of Hanoi which would serve as the place for his family to gather and relax on weekend.
Just after several mouse clicks, Cong found the ad pieces about the sale of some plots in the areas around Ba Vi district, and some plots in Soc Son district.
Cong decided to skip the information about Soc Son, because the land price in the area is really high, while there are few tourism sites, despite the convenient transport conditions.
Cong was attracted by the information about the land plot located near the entrance to the Ba Vi National Park in Van Hoa commune.
Cong was fully satisfied with the deal which was wrapped up just after three days of negotiations. It was really a good bargain, when Cong had to pay 250 million dong for every 360 square meters of land.
The thing that most satisfied Cong was that in such a small area, there are many big tourism sites, including the Ba Vi National Park, Thien Son Suoi Nga – the biggest tourism site in the former Ha Tay province, now a part of Hanoi, Khoang Xanh, Suoi Tien, Thac Da and Long Viet. There are also many resorts developed by the enterprises and the “big guys” from Hanoi.
Cong plans to build a resort on the 1100 square meter of land, which would be the place for him and his family to spend time on weekend. There would be a house with the view of valley, hill and mountain from all sides.
It is estimated that a half of the land area in Van Hoa has been bought by the investors from Hanoi, while a half of the Hanoi investors have build houses, gardens and grow trees to serve the relax demand.
A good choice for long term investment
Experts believe that Ba Vi area is attractive in the eyes of people thanks to its good climate and the high profitability to be brought by tourism services.

The number of tourists staying overnight at the Ba Vi mountain side in summer has been increasing rapidly in recent years. People nowadays have the demand to breathe fresh air and they tend to head for the airy areas with lots of trees where they can feel closer to the nature.
Three or four years ago, the land price in the area close to the Ba Vi mountain foot was very cheap, at less than 100 million dong per 360 square meters. However, the land price has become triple more expensive. The price upward trend is believed to continue in the future, since the demand for relaxing on weekend increases, the traffic gets more comfortable.
In fact, rich people now pour their money into the resorts projects also because they can see the potentials for long term investment, which they cannot find in any other investment channels. It is now less profitable to inject money in apartments, or villas.
