Real estate stocks post gains
Shares rose on both stock exchanges by the end of this morning, with the real estate sector leading the charge.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.57 per cent to stand at 475.52 points. Investor buying drove the trading value up to VND1.73 trillion (US$82.4 million) on a volume of 102 million shares.
Half of the 30 leading shares by market value and liquidity rose, lifting the VN30 Index 0.51 per cent to 546.89 points.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 141-95 overall.
Among the real estate stocks that gained, many hitting their ceiling prices, were Becamex Infrastructure Development (IJC), Dat Xanh Real Estate Service and Construction (DXG), Kinh Bac City Development (KBC) and Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL).
IJC was also the most active stock during the morning session with 4.25 million shares changing hands. They were being traded at their ceiling price of VND13,500 ($0.64).
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased 0.2 per cent to finish this morning at 80.07 points on a turnover of VND726.2 billion ($34.6 million).
Advancers edged decliners up by a margin of 137-117.
Habubank was still the most active stock in Ha Noi on a volume of more than 7 million shares, closing unchanged at VND7,000.
