Lao Stock Market: Traders mull over Lao LSX prices stalemate
Trades were few and far between on Thursday as traders were sat on the fence as spectators again in a light day's trading. Prices remained flat and again hovered at 100 day averages.
Share turnover this week is already 110 percent higher than last week's total and today's trades will improve on that volume. Mon-Wed three day turnover averaged US$64.4K per day; yesterday the liquidity fell away to US$24.2K.
Both stocks lost an insignificant 50 kip yesterday, but it was enough to distort the index to fall 11 points (-1.17 percent) to 926.90, but above last week's close of 920 points.
EDL-Gen appears much more comfortable at its current support price of 4,440-50 kip.
Following 4 straight days of fine volumes and turnover, no trades occurred in yesterday's first session, as investors mulled over unmatched bids and closing prices were at a stalemate.
BCEL was the only stock traded in the first 5 x ½ hour call auction sessions yesterday. In those sessions BCEL fell 50 kip to 6,950 but on tiny trades of 3974 shares.
EDL-Gen held out unmatched bids but made a small albeit brief appearance in the last session.
