SBV and QCB sign MOU on banking cooperation
Governor Nguyen Van Binh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and Governor Sheikh Abdulla Bin Saoud Al-Thani of the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) signed the "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation between SBV and QCB” in the presence of President Truong Tan Sang and King of the State of Qatar Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on January 16.
The signing of this Memorandum shows the desire of establishing and strengthening the relations of cooperation between QCB and SBV. Under the MOU, the two sides pledge to cooperate in information exchange and transfer of experience related to operations of the two central banks. Accordingly, the two sides will facilitate the exchange of information related to the stability and development of the payment system and other areas in banking operations. The cooperation will be implemented in the forms of meetings, conferences, seminars, and study and business trips of experts in relevant fields. In addition, QCB and SBV commit to cooperate in banking scientific research.
The subtances of cooperation are expected to help strengthen the management capacity for the two central banks and facilitate cooperation in the banking sector and businesses of the two countries.
The SBV International Cooperation Department and the QCB Representative Office are tasked to take the lead in implementing this MOU in the coming time.
