Investment documentary process shortened

Foreign and domestic investors will be offered new service on documentary process on investment and business running in Laos after one-stop investment service office was opened at the Ministry of Planning and Investment yesterday.

The works of three ministries of Planning and Investment, Commerce and Industry and Finance have been merged with the aim to promote domestic and foreign investment.

The establishment of one-stop investment service office has been made to ensure the achievements of four breakthroughs of the resolution of the 9th Party Congress, especially the third breakthroughs in improving management and governance regulations, said Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Somsavat Lengsavad at the opening ceremony.

He called on the three sectors to pay into account the improving the documentary processes on investment, concession projects and extension term of investment license in Laos, which will be a part of investment promotion and the 7th five years of socio-economic development plan.

The one-stop investment service office is to provide more facilities on documentary processes service for foreign investment license, extension terms of investment license, concession proposal, Visa extension service for expatriate, labour cards and other information service on investment in Laos, said Head Office of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Mr. Kikeo Chanthaboury.

He added that the commerce and industry sector is responsible for the issuance of business licenses for investors, the planning and investment sector will consider the investment concession license, and finance sector is responsible for the tax and taxation policies.
