Trading surges in HCM City, eases in Ha Noi
The VN-Index on the HCM Stock Exchange added 1.4 per cent Tuesday morning, closing the session at 469.40 points.
The value of trades reached nearly VND1.2 trillion (US$58 million), up 39.1 per cent compared to yesterday while trade volume increased by 16.2 million shares to 68.4 million.
Among blue chips, insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), food processor Masan Group (MSN) and PetroVietnam Finance (PVF) continued to hit their ceiling prices, while real estate developer Vincom (VIC) bottomed out for the second day in a row.
Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) was the most active code with nearly four million shares exchanged.
Advancers outnumbered decliners by 229-39.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed up 0.9 per cent to 79.25 points.
However, market value slid 4.6 per cent from yesterday's level to VND771.3 billion ($37.3 million) on a volume of 61.9 million shares.
Kim Long Securities Company (KLS) again claimed the highest trading volume nationwide with 6.4 million shares changing hands. It edged up 2.3 per cent, closing at VND13,500 per share.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 275-51.
