Index up in HCM City, down in Hanoi on lower value
The VN-Index gained another 0.69 per cent to close this morning's session at 404.41 points, led by rises among several major stocks.
Among the 10 largest shares led by market capitalisation, food producer Masan Group (MSN) and property developer Vincom (VIC) rose around 2 per cent, real estate developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai Company (HAG) gained 1.5 per cent, and software producer FPT Corporation (FPT) and dairy manufacturer Vinamilk (VNM) both closed up nearly 1 per cent.
Others closed unchanged or slightly down.
Gainers marginally edged losers by just 111-99.
Market value fell slightly to VND472.6 billion (US$22.7 million) with 29.4 million shares changing hands.
Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) was the most heavily traded stock, with over 2 million shares exchanged, but it closed unchanged at VND19,200 ($0.92).
By contrast, the HNX-Index lost 0.72 per cent to finish today at 69.25 points on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange.
Value of today's trades decreased 23 per cent over yesterday to VND345.9 billion ($16.6 million) on a volume of just 30.1 million shares.
Advancers outnumbered decliners by just 116-107.
Kim Long Securities Company (KLS), with over 5 million shares changing hands, remained the most heavily traded stock nationwide, rising 0.9 per cent to close at VND11,500 ($0.55).
