Tha Vatchan Mekong Riverside attracts foreign investor
Late last April, the government approved a Chinese company to develop Donchan beach on 25 ha almost worth US$200 million, in Sisattanak district, Vientiane Capital as a new town.
The project will construct a full set of facilities including with guesthouses, offices, a trade centre, a sport centre, entertainment place, high-heeled hotel and clinic centre.
The initial project worth US$30 million will be spent on the construction of 50 villas and other facility to serve the Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM) will be hosted by the Lao Government in 2012.
Next phase will be worth of US$100 million and the last one worth US$50 million. The project is now on land clearance.
The section of Tha Vatchanh and Don Chanh beach in the Mekong Riverside is now an attractive site of foreigner investors after completing the Mekong Embankment Development Project. Before this site has been far behind and ignored from businessmen.
Now the Chao Anouvong Park is a tourist, relax and exercise site, at the moment. It becomes now a popular site among Vientiane residents and foreigner.
Merchants enjoy trading in the compound of Chao Anouvong Park because locals flock to this site on week-end.
The development of Mekong riverside in the section of Chanthaboury and Sikhottabong districts has been conceded by Daoheung Group and Fujiwara Company under the concession of 30 years.
Two companies will build relax sites, souvenir shops, restaurants and facilities on 20,000 m2 for rent worth 32 billion kip.
