Companies urged to register with stock market

Companies are urged to register with the Lao Securities Market as doing so will help ensure their business growth and viability, according a senior official.

Acting Security General of the Securities Exchange Commission Office Ms Vathana Dalaloy spoke at a seminar held yesterday in Vientiane which was attended by over 200 officials and businesspeople that there are two public companies registered with the Lao Securities Exchange namely Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Laos (BCEL) and Electricite du Laos- Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) and both of them have mobilized a fund of over 1.08 trillion kip.

"Registering with the stock exchange will help investors mobilize fund for not only ensuring their business growth but also stabilizing their business and enjoying a 5 per cent reduction in tax pay for four years," said Mrs. Vathana. Also present at the seminar was Chairman and CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange Dethphouvang Moularat and Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Korean Exchange Jong Kil Park.
