Indices rally nationwide

The VN-Index gained 7.64 points (Up 1.6 per cent) to close at 469.32 points at the end of Wednesday morning's session. On the HCM Stock Exchange there were 108 gainers and losers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

About 27.7 million shares were traded, worth VND593 billion (US$28.2 million), down slightly compared to yesterday.

The two biggest large-cap shares hit their ceiling prices - food producer Masan Group (MSN), which finished at VND113,000; and estate developer Vincom (VIC), which ended at VND134,000 after two sessions of decline.

Most of the codes that hit their ceiling prices were penny stocks, such as food producer Cadovimex (CAD), computing service provider CMC Corporation (CMG) and fowarder Vinalink (VNL).

Other blue chips to perform well included Insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), which closed up 3.6 per cent; Petro Viet Nam Finance (PVF), up 2 per cent; steel maker Hoa Phat Group (HPG), up 1.2 per cent; and Vietinbank (CTG), up 1.1 per cent.

Sacombank (STB) saw 1.7 million shares change hands, the highest volume traded yesterday, but still 3 per cent down on Tuesday.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index fluctuated. It gradually gained until 9.30 this morning, then posted losses for about an hour. At the end of the morning session it was up 0.1 per cent (83.79 points).

Decliners outweighed advancers by 180-86.

Trading volume totalled 26.5 million shares, worth VND363 billion ($17.3 million). Construction giant Vinaconex (VCG), which hit its ceiling price, was the most active share, up 5.6 per cent with 2.6 million shares changing hands.
