CPI in HCM City increases 3.16% in April
HCM City's consumer price index in April saw a month-on-month increase of 3.16 percent, the municipal Statistics Office reported.
The rise represents an increase of 13.99 percent against the same period last year.
The sectors showing the highest rise were transport (5.77 percent), restaurants (4.56 percent), housing and building materials (4.12 percent), household appliances (1.49 percent), culture, entertainment and tourism (1.39 percent) and textiles and footwear (1.24 percent).
Food prices in the city this month rose by about 1.23 percent. The rice price increase of 0.61 percent was attributed to declining world demand.
