Agro exports from Vietnam to EU face obstacles
Vietnam’s agro exports to the EU market still face many obstacles, according to a representative of EU Commercial Counsellors.
The representative stated this in an online conference on April 6, to discuss various issues concerning the EU market. The issue of greatest concern to Vietnamese export companies were the obstacles facing export of agricultural products to the EU.
The EU vegetable market has shown signs of saturation with total imports of US$26-30 billion every year. The opportunity for developing countries to sell their vegetables and fruits is still a challenge.
In addition, export enterprises are facing major difficulties in meeting with the stiff regulations set out by the existing EU commercial and technical barriers.
Some of Vietnam’s agro-product exports are unable to match the demands in hygiene, quality and appearance.
