US$ 430 million poured into Hanoi in first quarter

US$427.7 million has been invested in Hanoi in the past three months, 19.7 times higher than last year’s first-quarter figure, says the Hanoi Statistics Office (HSO).

This is part of the funding for 57 projects, 47 of which are newly registered, not to mention others in Hoa Lac hi-tech zone.

However, the FDI level is still far from meeting Hanoi’s expectations in the wake of the global economic crisis, remarks HSO Chief Cong Xuan Mui.

To implement the Prime Minister’s directions, he says the Hanoi city People’s Committee has asked relevant departments to work closely with foreign consultants.
