Foreigners dominate over 60 per cent of LSX transaction

Over 60 percent of stocks have been bought by foreign business people, according to the Lao Securities Exchange Chairman and CEO Dethphouvang Moularat.

Over 80 billion kip have been circulated in the transaction of the Lao Securities Exchange since January 11 and on average each buyer holds 448 shares, according to Mr. Dethphouvang.

Mr. Dethphouvang said that the share that has been most transacted at the securities exchange was BCEL's and its record price was 15,400 kip increasing by 95 per cent from its starting price.

Since 11 January the price of shares transacted in the market had increased constantly by 10 per cent on a daily basis. However, the market saw a decrease in stock transaction between February 2 and 8 during which share price was reduced to 12,100 kip.
