EU dumping tax cessation applauded
The decision to end the dumping tax on Vietnamese leather-capped shoes to the European Union market from March 31 conformed with the trend to liberalise trade and fight against protectionism.
This was the response of Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga to questions from the press in Ha Noi on Mar. 24.
The decision to end the tax was also in line with the trend of positive development of the partnership and comprehensive co-operation between Viet Nam and the EU, Nga said.
The EU is one of the major consumers of Vietnamese footwear. Viet Nam aims to export US$5.6 billion worth of shoes this year, up 10.3 per cent from last year.
