China opens Chongqing-Hanoi direct flight
The first direct flight route between Chongqing and Hanoi was launched on March 6 with Sichuan Airlines flight number 3U8701 carrying more than 100 passengers from Jangbei International Airport.
The direct fights will reduce the travel time between the two cities by 2 hours. In the past, passengers had to transit in Nanning, Beihai or Guangzhou.
The airline will operate two flights on Thursday and Sunday with one-way ticket prices of US$882 for business class and US$664 for economy class, said Zhang Hui Yu, Deputy General Director of Sichuan Airlines
Vietnam has become a destination for tourists from Chongqing and its neighbouring cities and provinces.
