Business conference facilitates new partnerships

The Viet Nam – Czech Business Conference which takes place today in Ha Noi would be a good chance for businesses to foster trade information exchanges and seek new trade partners, said the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event will witness the participation of large Czech enterprises that operate in the textile and garment, construction material production, wood processing, pharmaceutical and office equipment sectors.

Two-way trade between the two countries saw steady growth in recent years. The figure rose from US$110 million in 2005 to $300 million in 2009, and reached over $250 million in the first nine months of 2010.

Czech enterprises have so far invested about $35 million in the production of glass, crystal, electrical appliances and construction materials in Viet Nam.

The two countries have agreed to prioritise co-operation in finance and banking, science and technology, trade, agriculture and biology, transport, infrastructure construction and labour.
