Hanoi strives to increase GDP growth to 12 percent
The Hanoi municipal authorities held a congress on February 22 to launch the emulation campaign for its socio-economic mission in 2011 with Pham Quang Nghi, Secretary of the City’s Party Committee in attendance.
Speaking at the congress, Nguyen The Thao, Chairman of the City People’s Committee launched the emulation campaign focusing on seven key tasks: Boosting production and business to raise competitiveness and ensure fast and sustainable development with a high GDP growth rate of 12 percent, promoting urban planning and management along with preserving natural resources and protecting the environment, upgrading infrastructure, enhancing cultural development, ensuring social welfare, speeding administrative reforms, and improving the quality of human resources.
Hanoi will also focus on communications for the upcoming National Assembly and People’s Council elections to ensure democracy and compliance with the law, he said.
