Work begins on Delta's biggest building complex

HCM City-based Construction and Investment Company 8 (CIC8) started the four-year construction of its multi-functional high-rise building complex in the Hung Phu New Urban Area of the Mekong Delta's biggest city, Can Tho on Nov. 28.

The complex, which is comprised of 16 buildings spanning an area of more than 72,000sq.m, will be the largest development in the Mekong Delta, with the total investment of VND2.3 trillion (US$115 million).

It will have more than 4,000 apartments, a five-star hotel, commercial and service centres and sport and recreation facilities, among others.

The aparments will target the low and middle-income population of the city, according to the investor.

The complex is the first on a list of 20 to be developed in Can Tho City until 2020, according to both local and foreign investor-approved projects.

CIC8 committed to allocating about 600 apartments to teachers and public service workers in the city at a 15 per cent discount, said Managing Director Huynh Huu Phuoc.
