Samsung Vietnam says cellphone exports hits $1 bln

Samsung Electronics Vietnam on September 17 held a ceremony to cerebrate its mobile phone export turnover of US$1 billion at its factory in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

Attending the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai praised the company’s performance.

He added that the Vietnamese government would further facilitate the Korean company in expanding production.

SEV started its cellphone manufacturing in April 2009 with around 7,000 workers.

The company says up to 90% of its mobile phones are exported to 52 countries and territories in the world.

SEV is expected to increase export turnover to $1.7 billion by the end of the year and $6 billion by 2015.
