New service: Leasing offices by the hour
A new type of service has appeared in HCM City: Leasing offices by the hour, allowing businesses to set up offices at luxurious buildings in the central area of the city for tens to several hundred dollars each month.
The low cost office
After two years of operation, Vo Nhat Vinh, General Director of VFirst Company, realized that it was very difficult for the company to seek clients if the company was headquartered at his house in District 8 in HCM City. Vinh wanted to set up offices in the central district, but he understood that this would cost him a great deal money to set up such an office.
Vinh accidentally found information on leasing office leasing through packages provided by Rolano Office, headquartered on Nguyen Phi Khanh Street in District 1. He decided to use this service and move his “head office” into the central area.
“There are different types of leasing packages which fit different businesses. The leasing area sometimes is just a desk which fits our demand,” Vinh said.
With four full-time staffers, Vinh needs to lease ten square meters, an area large enough for the staffers to work. Meanwhile, his company does not have to take care of many other things, such as reception, meeting room arrangements, or tea, are provided by the service provider. Vinh happily said his business has improved greatly.
Located at the luxurious Indochina Park Tower on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Road in District 1 in HCM City, the “representative office” of James Cook University Brisbane, an Australian university, is just a desk at the “shared office area” provided by I-Office Company.
Nguyen Vinh Quang, who is in charge of the Vietnamese market for the school, said that although there are “mountains” of works, from seeking clients to popularizing the school’s brand, he does not feel tired because he just needs to focus on his main job.
“When you need to arrange meetings with partners, you just need to order rooms in advance with the service provider. You can have the meeting rooms as you want. The service fee is affordable,” Quang said.
Businesses can save up to 80-90 percent on expenses
According to Hoa, an officer of an office services company, businesses only have to spend $50-100 a month to set up offices at luxurious buildings in the central area. “Many businesses have used these services because they can save on expenses with these service. Meanwhile, an office in the central area will make it easier for partners to contact each other,” Hoa said.
The office leasing packages, according to the advertisements by service providers, can help businesses save up to 80-90 percent on expenses, and of course, can help them save time.
Thanh, Director of an advertising firm, said that he has been satisfied with the service. Businesses will receive greater respect from partners if they arrange meetings or hold contract-signing ceremonies at luxurious buildings. According to Thanh, it is easier to seek clients when businesses have head offices at luxurious buildings.
The clients who use these services are diverse, including companies coming from other provinces and HCM City.
Though this kind of service has only been developing in recent months, there is no legal framework for this business. Therefore, service providers say they sometimes face difficulties. Management agencies remain doubtful about the services, especially with buildings where hundreds of offices are located.
In HCM City, this kind of service has been provided by many domestic and foreign companies, including: Regus, I-Office, Rolano Office, PSO, Fimexco, and Office Spot. Bien Minh, Marketing Director of Rolano Office, said more businesses have used that kind of service recently, when the global economy fell into a difficult period. The main clients of the service are small and medium-sized companies, representative offices, or working teams who need to save money and control spending.
