PPC: Expected business result in the first 6 months 2010
Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company has informed of expected business result in the first 6 months 2010 as follows:
* Electricity production: Due to requirement of the National Grid to ensure stability of the system, the turbine group No.1 of the company has still kept running to supply electricity to the system and not suspended for maintenance as planned. Producing electricity of other turbine groups has also operated stably. However, because equipments of turbine groups No.5 and No.6 have not maintained for a time, generating electricity has not gained 100% of their capacity.
* Electrical output in the first 6 months 2010 was 3.743 billion kWh, reaching 68% of the plan, but it has been still lower than the same period last year due to the reasons above.
* Expected business result in the first 6 months 2010 (Excluding identifying difference of exchange rate):
Total sales: VND2,569.93 billion
Total expenses: VND1,968.95 billion
Total pre-tax profit: VND 488.53 billion
(Profit in the first 6 months 2010 was lower than the same period 2009 because expenses such as maintenance, labor…were higher than in 2009, meanwhile electrical output was lower than the same period 2009).
* Related information:
- Loan (In foreign currency) of the company at 30/6/2010: JPY33.421 billion (Exchange rate of VND/JPY informed by the State Bank of Vietnam at 30/6/2010: 204.12, increasing VND3.42 compared to 31/12/2009).
- According to the current Law of Vietnam, the exchange rate is identified at the time of setting year financial statements. Therefore, the company has not identified difference of exchange rate in the current time.
