Summit to provide investment platform
The Vietnam Investment Summit (VIS) will take place in HCM City on June 8-9, targeting foreign direct investors and spotlighting real estate, infrastructure and private equity developments, according to the Singapore-headquartered organiser Terra-pinn, which specialises in B2B conferences.
The VIS 2010 will provide a platform for investors to gather information on the intricacies of investing in these sectors and a chance to network with Government regulators, leaders from State-owned enterprises and decision-makers from international companies.
At the same time, Vietnamese companies can raise their profile among investors who attend VIS.
The summit programme is expected to include discussions on the Government's continuing liberalisation of Viet Nam's investment policies, infrastructure and real estate sectors, and assessments of investment criteria required by foreign developers and project owners.
More than 50 speakers are expected to attend, including Dang Huy Dong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; Towfiqua Hoque, Senior Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation in Viet Nam; Peter Ryder, Chief Executive Officer, Indochina Land; and Andy Ho, Chief Investment Officer, VinaCapital.
Since its entry into the World Trade Organisation three years ago, Viet Nam has attracted 4,000 foreign projects that account for more than US$114 billion of foreign direct investment capital.
