Over US$1.2 bil invested in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone
In the first five months of this year, eight projects with a combined capital of US$274 million were licensed at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Nam, equivalent to 140 percent of total investment capital licensed this year.
Some of the major projects include the Tam Hiep port, the Truong Hai Automobile factory, and the Minh Duong Chu Lai Wood Processing Plant. At present, five projects have been put in action while the remainder have completed all the necessary procedures on design.
Currently, the zone has attracted 60 projects, with a total registered capital of more than US$1.2 billion including 35 valued at US$500 million already in operation, generated almost 8,500 jobs.
